So…where have I been?

Basketball Christopher

Life has gotten busy lately, so blogging has taken a back seat. I am really going to try to change that. I miss writing. I miss chatting with people online. I’m still here – reading, parenting, and living my life. There are some things that are eating into my time lately.

Parent Organizing at School

You may or may not know that I am the president of Christopher’s school’s Home & School Association (very similar to a PTA or PTO). I was the vice president last school year, and I didn’t think it would be that much more work to be the president. I was wrong. But mostly because I also took on chairing the fundraising run and an ice cream social event. That all ended before Christmas, so it should be smooth (or smoother) sailing from here, right?

You may see some posts here in the future about my Home & School Association experiences in case there are other moms out there looking for ideas and support.

Politics

Jim and I have gotten involved with our local chapter of Our Wisconsin Revolution, a spin off of Our Revolution and Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. I have been waiting for 2018, so I could help some great candidates get elected to office – on all levels, and I’m so excited that that time is finally here.

You may see some posts from me about candidates I will be supporting because I just may not be able to help myself.

Sports

Christopher is playing two sports right now. I encouraged him to try basketball as his winter sport, and while he isn’t loving it, he needs to finish out the season. There are only two weeks left.

Then he also made a select baseball team, and they just started indoor practices twice a week. Games and tournaments won’t start until the end of April, and then the time commitment will ramp up even more. For now, I am planning to use those 3 hours a week to blog at the library.

Holiday/Travel

Like you I’m sure, the holidays took up a lot of time during the last quarter as well. We traveled to Florida for Thanksgiving like we always do, and we hosted Jim’s family for Christmas here in Wisconsin. Then we also took a vacation to Phoenix right after Christmas to visit friends.

I’m hoping to get back to some more personal posts in 2018, so I can share more of what’s going on with me in the day to day. Get ready for serious pictures again!

That’s about it. Life is happening, and blogging isn’t always something I can squeeze in.

Thanks for sticking with me, and let me know if you have feedback on the WordPress migration. I’m hoping that having both of my blogs on the same platform will make things a little easier for me.
