Top Ten Tuesday #7: 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t

This weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

This topic was really hard! There were so many great 2015 releases that I read about and added to by TBR list. I narrowed it down to the top selections in three different categories, but I definitely could have listed about 20-30 books for this topic.

Books By Authors I Really Like That I Just Couldn’t Squeeze In

The Perfect Comeback of Caroline Jacobs by Matthew Dicks

I loved Matthew Dicks Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend, so I really want to read all of his other books, especially this one. I could have also put this book in my second category because I suggested this to my Moms Book Club, but it wasn’t picked.

Imaginary Things by Andrea Lochen

I enjoyed Andrea Lochen’s The Repeat Year, but this book intrigued me even more. I tried so many times to get it from the library, but it wasn’t in the catalog…until now! I will have to reserve it soon.

We Never Asked for Wings by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

I have heard mixed reviews about this book, but I loved The Language of Flowers so much that I have to give it a chance…some time soon I hope.

Books I Wanted to Read or Tried to Read

The Status of All Things by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke

I suggested this book to my Moms Book Club, but it didn’t get selected. I need to just read it on my own instead of hoping we’ll pick it for a future month.

Before We Were Strangers by Renee Carlino

I tried to reserve this book from the library, but they don’t have it. I should just break down and buy the Kindle book. I have some credits saved.

The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan

I really want to listen to this on audio because it’s kind of long, but the library doesn’t have it. I need to just read the hardcover book.

Books I Keep Hearing About That I Really Need to Get To ASAP

Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Everyone loved this book, and I meant to read it, but just never got to it. Now thanks to my #TBTBSecretSanta I own a copy. I will get to it soon.

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

This book is another that everyone has been raving about. I have had it on my hold list at the library for months, but I keep having to move the activation date out because of other books. I’m really going to read this next month. Finally!

Finding Audrey By Sophie Kinsella

I’ve never read her Shopaholic series, but I think I’d like them. I plan to start with this book though because I keep hearing good things. And the cover is too cute.

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon

This book is everywhere! I need to read it soon.

What books didn’t you get to in 2015? What were some of the best releases of 2015 that I should add to my list?

    1. I love when book club reads a book I've been dying to read. Enjoy The Royal We. I started a list on my Trello for the blog of these books I want to read, so I should get to them all in 2016. 🙂

  2. I have a hold on the ebook and the audiobook for Everything Everything (gotta have my bases covered!). I also want to read All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven soon – didn't get to it in 2015!
